School catchment areas, already linked to every property.
School catchment areas show which primary and lower secondary schools a home belongs to under the municipality's admission rules. For families with children, this is often the most important single factor in a housing decision. The layer appears in the property panel and as its own map layer under Education.

Kartverket supplies the dataset and compiles the school catchment areas from the municipalities' own systems. Note that some municipalities do not share their catchment areas through this national channel. Bergen kommune is the best-known example, so we get its catchment areas directly from the municipality in the dataset Catchment areas for schools in Bergen. Related datasets: Primary Schools, Upper secondary schools, Kindergartens.

About the datasetHow often are school catchment areas updated?
Daily. The frequency follows the source and is shown on the dataset in Placepoint.
Where does the data come from?
From Kartverket. We collect the data, check its quality and place it on the right property, with the source and date on every field.
How do I see school catchment areas for a property?
Look up the address in Fusion and turn on the Education map layer. The dataset is a separate layer there, and you see the details in the property panel when you click on the map.
Can I get the dataset programmatically?
Yes. The same data is available in Placepoint API and in Placepoint AI through MCP, so you can bring it into your own systems and agents.
