Privacy in the data

How we handle personal data

Private persons are not shown by name

Where the Land Registry lists a private person as a party, you see "Private person" and their ownership share, with no name, Organization Number or national identity number. Companies are shown with their full name and Organization Number.

Source of the data

Each field shows where the figure comes from, so you can check the basis for a report or a board decision.

Data controller

Placepoint AS is the data controller under the GDPR. Data is stored and processed in the EU, with data processing agreements with all third parties.

Public and licensed sources

The data comes from public registers such as Kartverket, Brønnøysundregistrene and the municipalities, and from licensed suppliers. The data source pages show who supplies what.

Questions from procurement and IT

What we get asked

Ask a question
Where is the data stored?

In the EU. Both storage and processing take place within the EU, and this applies to all products: Fusion, Placepoint API, Placepoint AI and Leads.

Do you have a data processing agreement?

Yes. Placepoint is the data controller, and we have data processing agreements with all third parties that process data on our behalf. Our agreement with you follows the standard terms; see Terms of use.

Does Placepoint show private persons?

Not by name. Private persons in the Land Registry are shown as "Private person" with their ownership share. National identity numbers are not in the data.

Can we get documentation for a security assessment?

Yes. Send your questions to support@placepoint.no and we will answer what we can document. If we cannot document something, we will tell you.

What happens to data we upload ourselves?

Your own datasets in Fusion belong to you. They are stored in the EU, shared only with the users you give access to, and deleted when you ask us to.
