Placepoint

Why Placepoint

The evidence decides the outcome.

Data on Norwegian property is mostly public. The hard part is not finding it, but making it fit together well enough that you can confidently base a decision on it.

One fact base

Same property, same answer, across registers

The same property has different keys in different registers. The matrikkel knows it by its cadastre number, Enhetsregisteret (the register of legal entities) knows the owner by Organization Number, the Land Registry (Grunnboken) knows the title, and the municipality knows the case. Linking them by hand is where the hours go.

Placepoint makes the link once, for all properties, and keeps it up to date. Looking up an address gives you ownership, tenants, zoning, transactions and risk in one answer, not five searches you have to piece together yourself.

Data quality and sources

We quality-assure, so you don't have to assess every source

We state the source of the data, so you can verify the evidence. That is the difference between a figure you can use in a report and a figure you have to check first.

  • We collect. From the source: Kartverket, the municipalities, Brønnøysundregistrene, NVE, NGU, SSB and more.
  • We normalise. The same property is the same property across registers, by cadastre number and Organization Number.
  • We quality-assure. The source and date are shown on every field, so you can see what you are relying on.
  • We put it in context. Owner, zoning, tenants, transactions and risk on the same card.
Built by people who know property

Domain knowledge, not just technology

Placepoint is built by a team with deep property expertise, together with people from product and technology. We understand the problems because we have worked on them ourselves.

It shows in the details: what an acquisition report must contain, why area type matters for pricing, and why a tenant-level lookup is different from a company search.

Norwegian company, EU hosting

Support in Norwegian, data in the EU

We are a Norwegian company with offices in Oslo and Stockholm. We store and process the data in the EU. Support answers in Norwegian, and the people who answer are the same people who build the product.

Sweden is covered through our acquisition of Combify, which gives equivalent property coverage in the Swedish market.

Security and privacy

What we can't, isn't.

Everything about security and privacy, on one page →

  • Private persons are not shown by name. Where the Land Registry lists a private person as a party, you see ‘Private person’ and their ownership share, with no name, organization number or national identity number. Companies are shown with their full name and organization number.
  • Source references on the data, so you can document where a figure comes from in a report or a board resolution.
  • Placepoint is the data controller under GDPR, hosted in the EU, with data processing agreements with all third parties.
