Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to all products and platforms operated by Placepoint AS, including Placepoint, PropCloud and Newsec Maps. Where provisions apply only to a specific platform, this is stated in the text.

1. Who we are

Placepoint AS (org. no. 921 550 049) is the controller of the personal data we collect. We develop and deliver SaaS-based tools for the property industry:

2. What personal data we collect, and why

2.1 Chat and contact forms

Use of our chat or contact forms is voluntary. We collect name, e-mail address and/or phone number — solely to respond to your enquiry and to follow up where necessary.

2.2 Newsletter subscription

To send the newsletter, we need your e-mail address. We also collect IP address and user agent for spam detection. Name, company and phone number may be stored if you provide them.

You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the newsletter or by contacting us directly.

2.3 Job applications

When you apply, we may collect contact details, CV, educational background, professional qualifications, employment history and references — solely to assess your suitability. You can withdraw your consent or request erasure at any time.

2.4 Customers, partners, suppliers and prospective customers

Provision of services

Giving authorised users access to the platform and the customer support portal
Notifying of service interruptions or updates
Following up support requests, e-mails, chats or calls
Fulfilling contractual obligations such as order confirmations, licence details and invoicing

Sales and marketing

Relevant offers, news and product updates by e-mail, phone or post, based on our legitimate interest in marketing the services.

Product development and analysis

Analysis of usage patterns and user surveys to improve the platforms, based on legitimate interest.

4. Who we share your data with

We use third-party providers for platform operations, analytics, e-mail services and CRM, and enter into data processing agreements where required. Transfers to providers outside the EU/EEA are governed by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

We may disclose data to public authorities when we are legally obliged to do so.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5. How long we store your data

🍪 Cookies — Deleted automatically after the storage period of the individual cookie.
📧 Newsletter data — Deleted upon unsubscription or repeated delivery failures.
📄 Job application data — Deleted once the recruitment process has ended, unless you have consented to storage for future opportunities.
🏢 Customer and contract data — Stored for the entire duration of the customer relationship and for the required period thereafter.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR and Norwegian data protection legislation, you have the following rights:

Right of access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification — Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure — Demand erasure when the data is no longer necessary. Certain data may be retained for legal reasons.
Right to restriction — Request restricted processing while a dispute is being resolved.
Right to object — Object to processing based on legitimate interest, incl. direct marketing.
Right to data portability — Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
Withdraw consent — Withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.

We respond within 30 days. You may lodge a complaint with Datatilsynet (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority) — we encourage you to contact us first.
