Terms of Use

Applies to all products and platforms operated by Placepoint AS — including Placepoint, PropCloud and Newsec Maps. By using any of these platforms, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About the platforms

Placepoint AS offers the following SaaS-based tools for property professionals. All platforms are intended exclusively for professional and commercial use — they are not aimed at consumers.

Placepoint — A property analysis platform with tools for property search, map layers, 3D visualisation, travel-time analysis, municipal case registers, statistical reports and a Property Relationship Management (PRM) system. placepoint.no →

2. Access and user accounts

Access to the platforms requires a valid subscription and a user account. As a user, you are responsible for:

Keeping your login information confidential
All activity that takes place under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

Placepoint reserves the right to suspend or terminate access if these terms are breached.

3. Permitted use

You may use the platforms solely for lawful professional purposes in accordance with these terms and any subscription agreements. You agree not to:

Copy, scrape or systematically extract data from the platforms beyond what the subscription permits
Use the platforms to develop a competing product or service
Share, resell or sublicense access to third parties without written consent from Placepoint
Attempt to circumvent technical access controls or security measures
Use the platforms in a manner that may damage, overload or impair availability

4. Data and intellectual property rights

All content, software, data and functionality available via the platforms — including map layers, analytical models, reports and the PRM system — belong to Placepoint AS or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property legislation.

Data obtained from public registers (including Grunnbok (the Norwegian Land Register), Matrikkel (the Norwegian Cadastre), Brønnøysundregistrene (the Brønnøysund Register Centre) and Aksjonærregisteret (the Norwegian Register of Shareholders)) is made available in accordance with the terms of those registers. Placepoint does not claim ownership of such data, but the compilation, enrichment and presentation of this data within the platforms is proprietary.

You may not reproduce, distribute or commercially exploit platform content beyond what the subscription permits without prior written consent.

5. Availability and changes

Placepoint strives for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to:

Carry out scheduled or emergency maintenance
Change, update or discontinue features with reasonable notice
Suspend access in the event of suspected misuse or security breaches

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The platforms and their content are provided “as is” and “as available”. Placepoint makes no warranties, whether express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness or fitness for any particular purpose of any data or analysis provided.

Note — Data from public registers reflects the content of those registers at the time of extraction and is not necessarily always up to date or complete. Users should verify information themselves before making decisions based on it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Norwegian law, Placepoint is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of the platforms, including loss of profit, loss of data or business interruption.

Placepoint’s aggregate liability for any claim arising from use of the platforms shall not exceed the fees paid by the user in the three months preceding the claim.

8. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the platforms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts, with Oslo tingrett (Oslo District Court) as the agreed venue.

9. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to update these terms of use at any time. The current version will always be available at:

In the event of material changes, we will notify users by e-mail or via a message on the relevant platform.
