Bergen Municipality does not share its school catchment areas through national channels such as Kartverket or the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training (Udir), so we collect the catchment areas directly from the municipality's own planning registers. The dataset covers both primary and combined schools and lower secondary schools in the Bergen area. It lets home buyers and agents and brokers see which school a home belongs to, in the same way as in the rest of the country's municipalities.

For home buyers, school catchment is often the single factor that matters most when moving, especially for families with children, and catchment areas can have a significant effect on house prices.
