Sports, culture & religious buildings in Placepoint
Building types in the matrikkel that belong to three thematic groups:
Sport: sports halls, swimming pools, ice rinks, playgrounds, stands and sports changing rooms.
Culture: cinemas, theatres, opera and concert halls, museums, art galleries, community centres, village halls, monuments, libraries, zoos and botanical gardens.
Religion: churches, chapels, prayer houses, monasteries, synagogues, mosques, crematoriums, cemetery chapels and mortuaries.
See also the glossary entry Sports, culture & religious buildings. The building geometry comes from Felles kartdatabase (FKB), and Kartverket supplies the dataset. For developers and property managers, closeness to cultural infrastructure makes an area more attractive in prospecting and area analysis. The layer is part of the Family and accessibility map layers and the Business map layers. Related extracts from the matrikkel: Apartment building, Commercial buildings, Public and similar buildings, Facilities register (for sports and outdoor facilities funded by national gaming revenue).
One to two days' delay after registration in the matrikkel.

About the datasetHow often are sports, culture & religious buildings updated?
Daily. The frequency follows the source and is shown on the dataset in Placepoint.
Where does the data come from?
From Kartverket. We collect the data, check its quality and place it on the right property, with the source and date on every field.
How do I see sports, culture & religious buildings for a property?
Look up the address in Fusion and turn on the Property map layer. The dataset is a separate layer there, and the details appear in the property panel when you click on the map.
Can I get the dataset programmatically?
Yes. The same data is available in Placepoint API and in Placepoint AI through MCP, so you can bring it into your own systems and agents.
