What the dataset contains
Water & sewer assets along roads in Placepoint
Selected water and sewer assets along public roads, from Statens vegvesen's Nasjonal vegdatabank (NVDB). The dataset includes:
Manhole: a structure that connects pipelines or takes in water through a grate or drain.
Pipeline: a pipe for liquid or gas along the road.
Closed pipe trench: a route with one or more buried pipelines, or a crushed-stone drain, for drainage or other pipe lines.
Ditch, open: a depression in the ground for drainage, part of the road's drainage system.
Toilet facilities: buildings with toilets or urinals (typically at rest areas).
The dataset supplements the broader Manhole cover, drain and hydrant layer, which covers the municipal water and sewer network. For a developer, water and sewer infrastructure near roads matters when building close to a public road, and when assessing drainage and surface water management. Part of Placepoint's Infrastructure and Transport and communications map layers. Related: Wastewater facilities, Manhole cover, drain and hydrant.

About the datasetHow often is Water & sewer assets along roads updated?
Weekly. The frequency follows the source and is shown on the dataset in Placepoint.
Where does the data come from?
From Statens vegvesen. We collect and quality-check the data, then link it to the right property, with source and date on every field.
How do I see Water & sewer assets along roads for a property?
Look up the address in Fusion and turn on the Infrastructure map layer. The dataset is there as its own layer, and the details appear in the property panel when you click on the map.
Can I get the dataset programmatically?
Yes. The same data is available in Placepoint API and in Placepoint AI through MCP, so you can bring it into your own systems and agents.
