Education Level in Placepoint
The highest completed education of the population per basic statistical unit, typically split into primary school, upper secondary, vocational college, short university/college (under 4 yr) and long university/college (over 4 yr). The dataset covers everyone living in Norway on 1 October who is 16 or older at the end of the reporting year, as well as 15-year-olds who have completed primary school or have started education beyond primary school level. Geodata AS supplies the data to Placepoint, with Statistics Norway (SSB) as the underlying data owner.
For commercial agents and retail analysts, education level is a strong indicator of an area's socio-economic profile and purchasing power. For developers assessing office locations, being close to a highly educated workforce is a key location factor. Read it together with Income, Wealth, Main Industry per Basic Statistical Unit, Age distribution and Field of education. Part of Placepoint's map layers for demographics.
