Electric cars, linked to every property.
The number of privately owned electric cars per 100x100 m grid cell, taken from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration's vehicle register (Statens vegvesens motorvognregister) and anonymised and aggregated. The dataset also includes information about hybrid cars in the same grid, but hybrids are not shown directly on the map.

Electric cars in Placepoint

Norway has one of the highest shares of electric cars in the world, but the distribution is very uneven: urban areas such as Oslo, Stavanger and Trondheim have a much higher share of electric cars than rural areas. For developers, the dataset helps you assess capacity needs for charging stations and changing parking standards in zoning plans, especially in town and city centre developments. Read it together with Cars and fuel types (total fuel mix), Cars brands (Tesla breakdown) and Parking and charging. Part of our map layers for Transport and communications and Energy.

About the datasetPublic transport stops
Public transport stops for bus, metro, tram, train, ferry and port from Entur, the state-owned company that runs Norway's national hub for public transport data.
About the datasetHow often is Electric cars updated?
Annually. The frequency follows the source and is shown on the dataset in Placepoint.
Where does the data come from?
From Geodata AS. We collect and quality-check the data and place it on the correct property, with source and date on every field.
How do I see Electric cars for a property?
Look up the address in Fusion and turn on the Transport and communications map layer. The dataset has its own layer, and the details appear in the property panel when you click on the map.
Can I get the dataset programmatically?
Yes. The same data is available in Placepoint API and in Placepoint AI through MCP, so you can bring it into your own systems and agents.
