Posten Bring, already linked to every property.

Posten Bring is the Norwegian state-owned postal and logistics group. It was established in 1647 as Norges Postvesen, became a limited company (Posten Norge AS) in 2002 and was renamed Posten Bring AS in 2023. The state owns 100% of the company, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries has managed the ownership since 2017.

What Posten Bring gives you

The data, and what it decides

The postal code register is one of Norway's most used base datasets. Every address in the matrikkel is linked to a postal code, and changes to the postal code structure (splits, mergers, a new sub-area code) directly affect where deliveries end up and how demographic statistics are aggregated. For an estate agent or developer, the postal code is a coarse but immediate geographic division, used in both sales prospectuses and market analysis. The physical post offices and post-in-shop outlets are a smaller part of the map layer today, as Posten has reduced the number of full-service offices over time. The remaining locations are still reference points when you assess local services.

Your workspace

Map, property panel, reports, Placepoint API and MCP.

Why Posten Bring in Placepoint

The register is free. The time it takes to use it is not.

One lookup, not one portal per source

Posten Bring is one of 37 vendors. The data sits on the property alongside registers, plans and risk data from the others.

Linked to the right property

We link the data to the cadastre number before you open the map. No keys, no import.

Updated when the source is

Updates follow the source: weekly. Every field shows its date.

Traceable back to the source

Each dataset is labelled with Posten Bring as the vendor, so you can document your sources in a report.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the Posten Bring data

Ask a question
How up to date is the data from Posten Bring?

The table above shows how often each dataset is updated, which follows the source. Every field in Placepoint shows its source and date.

Can we use the data from Posten Bring in our own systems?

Yes. The Placepoint API exposes the same datasets programmatically, and the MCP server makes them available to AI agents. You can export extracts and reports from the platform.

Does it cost extra?

The datasets are part of your Placepoint subscription. Where the source charges a fee for individual documents, such as registered documents from Kartverket, the price follows the source's fee.

Are we missing a source you use?

Tell us at support@placepoint.no. We add sources all the time, often because a customer asked for one we did not have.
