Fiskeridirektoratet (the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries) is the national agency for managing fisheries and aquaculture, under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. Among other things, it manages the Aquaculture register: the public register of all Norwegian fish farms with their localities, licences and operating status. The Aquaculture register feeds Placepoint's Coast and fishing map layers. If you work with coastal property (aquaculture property, sea-facing business, plots for fishing-related business), you can see where farms are and which species they farm.

What Fiskeridirektoratet gives you
The data, and what it decides
The agency also runs several other relevant registers, including Fiskerimanntallet (the register of fishers), the vessel register and up-to-date data on quotas and catches. These are not yet combined in Placepoint, but you can get them directly from Fiskeridirektoratet's map service when you need them.
Fiskeridirektoratet (the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries) was established in Bergen in 1900. It advises the authorities and carries out their decisions on fisheries and aquaculture management in Norway.
