What U.S. Green Building Council gives you

The data, and what it decides

LEED is mainly a design tool based on a points system and energy modelling. It is less suited to the Nordic climate and regulations than BREEAM-NOR and Svanemerket (the Nordic Swan Ecolabel). In Norway, LEED therefore appears mostly on some international corporate head offices and on commercial buildings with American owners or American tenants. For Placepoint users, LEED status is still relevant for ESG reporting and for projects with multinational stakeholders.

At USGBC, we are building a better future where the built environment supports a healthy, sustainable world for all. We accelerate impactful change by equipping practitioners, policymakers, and decision-makers with transformative tools, proven solutions, and data-driven insights.

Registers, maps and services as the vendor publishes them.

Collection

We collect from the source, not from a copy of a copy, as often as the source is updated.

Normalisation

Linked to cadastre number and Organization Number, quality-assured, with source and date on every field.

Your workspace

Map, property panel, reports, Placepoint API and MCP.

Why U.S. Green Building Council in Placepoint

The register is free. The time it takes to use it is not.

One lookup, not one portal per source

U.S. Green Building Council is one of 37 vendors. The data sits on the property alongside registers, plans and risk data from the others.

Linked to the right property

We link the data to the cadastre number before you open the map. No keys, no import.

Updated when the source is

Update frequency follows the source, and every field shows a date.

Traceable back to the source

Each dataset is tagged with U.S. Green Building Council as the vendor, so you can document your evidence in a report.

The datasets

  • Environmental Certifications (the LEED part, together with BRE for BREEAM and Miljømerking Norge for Svanemerket)

Each dataset follows its source's update schedule, shown for that dataset. The category is the map layer group the dataset sits under in Fusion.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the U.S. Green Building Council data

Ask a question
How up to date is the data from U.S. Green Building Council?

The table above shows how often each dataset is updated, which follows the source. Every field in Placepoint shows its source and date.

Can we use the U.S. Green Building Council data in our own systems?

Yes. The Placepoint API exposes the same datasets programmatically, and the MCP server makes them available to AI agents. You can export extracts and reports from the platform.

Does it cost extra?

The datasets are part of your Placepoint subscription. Where the source charges a fee for individual documents, such as registered documents from Kartverket, the price follows the source's fee.

Are we missing a source you use?

Tell us at support@placepoint.no. We add sources all the time, often because a customer asked for one we did not have.
