Placepoint is the prop-tech company developing analysis tools for early-stage property development. They are working on launching several innovations that the market has not previously had effective access to. Now comes yet another new tool: 3D designer.

“We see a need to be able to quickly get an overview of the opportunities that exist on a site, and how these can be visualised,” says Peder Sunde, CEO of Placepoint. “This is feedback we get from customers we have worked with over time. It is therefore gratifying that we can now offer a tool that makes it possible to draw up a neighbourhood in a matter of minutes before you start analysing the impact of the new buildings.”

Placepoint’s 3D designer lets you create quick and simple massing studies in 3D. These can be copied and placed on the property in an instant. In addition, there are already tools for measuring sightlines and elevations, revealing sun conditions, etc. With Placepoint you can examine the potential of the property you are considering while you are still on the phone with the estate agent.

CEO Peder Sunde and co-founder Jarle Bjørnbeth look forward to the reception of Placepoint’s new 3D designer

Property developer Atlas Utvikling uses Placepoint for several hours every single day when exploring new opportunities.

“We save a great deal of time and get a very visual impression of what a potential development project could look like with simple massing studies. It shortens decision time for investments and ensures better analyses at an early stage,” says Mikkel Viermyr, Investment Director at Atlas.

The industry is facing a challenging time. Willingness to pay is falling, material costs are rising and more projects are being put on hold. In demanding situations like the one we are experiencing now, it becomes even more important to avoid site purchases that turn out not to be the gold mine you expected. That is what Placepoint delivers on, says Sunde.

The company is known for having created an entirely new category when it launched the project management tool “Property Relationship Management”, or PRM system. It has also been nominated for the Nordic prop-tech awards. “We have several innovations in the works, and we are naturally excited to see how the market receives our new solutions,” says Jarle Bjørnbeth, product owner and co-founder of Placepoint.

Our main objective is to make property analysis so simple that more players avoid making costly mistakes early in the development phase. With the launch of the 3D designer we have come yet another step along the way, and we are continuing forward to make property investments more predictable and profitable.
