Placepoint acquires Newsec Maps
Placepoint takes over Newsec Maps and strengthens its position as the leading property data platform in Norway.

The transaction means that Placepoint gains a larger market share and that map-based analysis services for property players become even better at solving challenges for the property industry.
With effect from 31 January 2025, an agreement has been entered into for the sale of Newsec Maps AS to Placepoint AS.
The SaaS platform Newsec Maps is a proud story for the brokerage firm Newsec and, under CEO Frede Fardal and the team, has grown from an internal decision-making tool into a leading player in the market. As Newsec is primarily a brokerage firm, the company considers it strategically right to hand over further growth and development to the pure-play IT and SaaS company Placepoint.
Newsec is impressed by Placepoint and its ambitions and is entering into a cooperation agreement for further development. In connection with the transaction, Newsec is entering into a long-term agreement on the sharing of market data.
The transaction is an important milestone for Placepoint and underpins its strategy and ambitions to become the best map-based analysis tool for property players in Norway.
Newsec is confident that Placepoint will continue to develop the platform further and add value for Newsec’s many satisfied customers.
Any enquiries should be directed to the chair of the board of Newsec Maps or the CEO of Placepoint.
